Podcast Post-Production Editor (Descript) — Audio + Video, Ongoing, US-based
I'm creating a video podcast in the psychology / healthcare-education space. I record the episodes and do a rough cut in Descript, then want hand it off for finishing. I'm looking for an experienced, reliable editor to take episodes from rough cut to published. I have 6 episodes recorded and rough edited, and can have almost 30 episodes ready by mid/late August.
Per-episode deliverables (from my Descript rough cut):
• Audio edit + leveling/Studio Sound, filler and gap cleanup, smooth transitions
• Video edit (talking-head; clean and professional — not flashy/content-mill)
• Captions, show notes, and chapters
• Create layouts for use in episodes (set of re-usable media like b-roll, split screen, etc depending on episode needs & identical layouts for every episode (opening & closing initially).
• Publishing to Spotify/Apple (via Buzzsprout) and YouTube
(I"ll handle the website and CEU/course materials — not part of this role.)
Requirements:
• You edit in Descript — extensive knowledge of Descript and tools is essential. Comfortable with scenes, layouts, Studio Sound, and shared-Drive/editor-seat collaboration.
• US-based, working US business hours.
• Provide some of the published video podcasts you've edited (links, with your role) and published
• Willing to sign a simple independent-contractor agreement + NDA.
Getting started: one paid trial episode first; if it's a good fit, ongoing weekly work. Sample episode available on request after an initial reply (unlisted link).
To apply, please answer:
How long have you edited in Descript?
How comfortable are you with scenes/layouts/audio within Descript?
Are you US-based? What's your timezone and weekly availability?
Your rate — hourly and per finished episode — for a ~20–30 min talking-head video+audio episode delivered from a provided Descript rough cut.
Typical turnaround per episode.
Any objection to signing an NDA + contractor agreement?
Thank you!
