We're casting real American regional accents for audiobook characters. Native accents only, no impressions.

ROLES (apply only for what's genuinely yours)

- New York woman, 30–55, low or husky (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Staten Island)

- Midwest man, 30–55, deep baritone

- Midwest woman, 20s–30s, wry and warm

- Texas man, 40–65, relaxed drawl

- Native American woman, 30–60, measured (Indigenous performers prioritized)

- Narrator, man, 30–50, General American, wide range (whisper to shout)

THE JOB

One 30-second recording in your natural, everyday voice. Unprocessed WAV, 44.1 kHz or higher, plus 5 seconds of room silence.

EQUIPMENT (required)

Pro condenser or broadcast mic, audio interface, treated room. No laptop, phone or heet mics. No noise reduction or other processing.

PAY

One-time flat fee. No royalties or per-use payments.

RIGHTS

You assign Lex (LexBooks, Inc.) full rights to the recording and the voice captured in it, for use in our audiobook projects, including creating AI/synthetic voice models from it.

TO APPLY

Send a short clip: your name, the role, and where you grew up, then 20 seconds talking about anything in your everyday voice. Don't push the accent.
